Twitter - block and unblock - can Twitter learn from Facebook
As an advocate for Twitter and someone who has benefited immensely in terms of sales and following from this platform, I have to say yesterday was a very sad day in our relationship.
Someone got into my Twitter account. Not only did they get into my account, but they also deleted my followers. I am devastated. Not only does Twitter not have any mechanism for unblocking people your account has blocked unless you have an unbelievable memory for every person who has followed you, but these people who have taken the time to follow you and respond to your emails and links, think that you have blocked them.
So, change your password frequently and make sure it is not obvious. Keep track of who follows you (which is hard to do when you have thousands as we have) and lobby Twitter to provide a better solution to this problem.

13 Oct 2011Social marketing has revolutionalised the way the world works and it comes with its pros and cons.
ReplyOne of the cons is hacking, I remember a few yrs ago someone got into my pc and deleted most of my work on the hard drive. I always make sure my anti virus is updated since then.
Twitter should maybe improve the security of the profiles, regular password changes might be a good idea. Its very frustrating when something like this happens and Twitter needs to do something about it.
