The Importance of a Work Family

According to Business Insider, the average full-time employee in America works about 1,700 hours per year.

If you don’t like the people that you work with, 1,700 hours is a lot of time to be stuck around them. That is why the work family is an important, but majorly overlooked, aspect of employment.

Like a real family, you don’t get to choose your work family, but making the best of who you have around will make your days a breeze.

By chance, I had an invitation to join Steven Jackson's box at Sunday's NFL Game with the Atlanta Falcons versus Chicago Bears. I had never seen an American football game, on television or live, and when the invitation came, I leapt on it like you wouldn't believe. It's an experience, and possibly a bucket list item that I should do while I have the chance and am staying in a city where everything seems accessible.

Through friends, I met Steven Jackson and the first thing that I learned about him was his ability to hold a conversation by asking the right questions. You would think that someone with his type of fame, the type that comes to very few people, would be so used to talking about themselves that they would be completely out of their comfort zone when roles are reversed. Wrong. This man not only has great range in conversation, he is incredibly well travelled and has had experiences that most of us just put on our bucket list, but never get around to doing.

All I want for Xmas is...

It's that time of year again and I have to say it has come around far too quickly for my liking.

It's seems that as we get older, the faster the year goes. I remember very well when Christmas used to come around very slowly and the last weeks lead-up to Santa arriving was the slowest week of all.

I’ve been to Mildura

Who would have thought? As a person who much prefers plane travel to road travel, Mildura to me has always been the place where you can buy some nice wine from and where most transport companies travel through.

Seeing in 2011

pipmelpicatmikes-300x300It’s incredible to think that yet another year has gone by.

It would be amiss of me to not look back and reflect on the year we have just had, yet something tells me that whilst reflection is good, looking forward is even better.

My relationship with the Easter Bunny

My first memory of the Easter Bunny was when I was about 3 or 4 and my older siblings broke into the cupboard to steal an egg that was in large loose pack.
