With stars in your eyes - anything is possible
I was thinking... when you have stars in your eyes, anything is possible. In every aspect of your life, if you walk around with stars in your eyes, it opens the world to possibility beyond anything you can ever imagine. While this is contrary to what most people believe on the topic of people who have 'stars in their eyes', there is some justification for what is popular opinion.
Dreamers are something that like entrepreneurs, should be applauded. They make our world much more interesting. Every great idea started with someone dreaming it. But there is a difference from being a dreamer to being someone who has the ability to be successful.
The adrenelin of belief is contagious. If you believe that anything is possible, then it is. But there are a few things you need to do to make it real.
Of course, not everyone believes in this theory. There is the question as to whether successful dreamers are born or made. If you look at leaders in organisations, you have to think about whether it is nature or nurturing that makes them that way. Why are some people good at being leaders and others are not? It is a million dollar question, however, I am of the opinion that the only logical answer is that it is combination of both. There is a certain amount of being 'born' with it but it is the 'nurturing' of leadership capabilities that makes it possible.
The difference between a dreamer and a doer is profound. Successful entrepreneurs might have initially dreamt of success, but they will not stop there. The drive to accomplish necessary actions to achieve successful outcomes separates people from just being dreamers to being achievers. Note, most people are just dreamers and don't know how to take the steps to become successful or great leaders. Success is a goal that requires drive, determination, courage, fearlessness, planning, discipline, sacrifice and passion. It is not easy, or everyone would be successful - so its the few people that have the ability to turn their dreams into reality that make it.
A successful entrepreneur recognizes the word 'no' as a hurdle, not a deal closer and certainly not impossible. The opportunity to overcome the objection represented by the word 'no' is an absolute necessity for any individual seeking success as an entrepreneur.
Some things that dreamers do may include; they guess outcomes more often than not, they take as many shortcuts as possible, they larger ignore the concept of research and they all hope someone will 'do it for them'.
Successful entrepreneurs are doers and overcome obstacles in their path through perseverance, hard work and an optimistic outlook. They fantasise but don't live in a fantasy world. They take criticism well and look at the pros and cons of criticism that comes their way. They improve upon what they are doing and have a sound business acumen that may be boosted by listening to others, reading books, research and using their own past experiences and that of others to learn lessons that need to be learnt.
If you have 'stars in your eyes', don't be discouraged. Use this ability to 'dream' and turn it into a reality. Take passionate steps that are part of a greater business plan and try writing a 'to do list' incorporating all the steps you need to take to reach your goal.
