Letter to the Premier of Queensland
Hon. Anna Bligh, MP
Premier of Queensland
BRISBANE QLD 4000
I would like to offer my deep sympathy for those who have been effected by the Queensland Floods.
Having grown up in regional Queensland and started my first business in the Gold Coast when I was just 25 years old, I have a love and loyalty for everything that Queensland and what Queenslanders represent.
My family, like most of Queensland, have been effected by the Queensland Floods but fortunately, they have support and love around them to tackle the after-effects head on and move forward in recovering their lives to make them as normal as possible.
The people I feel for are those who have lost their lives, their families, their homes and ultimately their jobs – with no business to go to.
I think offering money is not enough, and I and my team of marketers throughout Australia along with friends in the industry would like to offer assistance to those who are in need at no cost wherever we can within the constraints of time and availability.
People will need employment and financial assistance once the floods are gone and they are just left with the after-effects.
Small businesses who are not insured and don’t have a sufficient risk management plan in place, and are on the borderline of business survival anyway, are the ones that will need the most help.
We are not sure how to go about this, but will post on our website, blog, twitter and facebook accounts that we will be helping free of charge as many people as possible and encouraging our friends to work alongside us to help these people ‘get back out there’.
We ask for your suggestions on what the best practice is for us in terms of communicating this to the people that need in most in the upcoming months. Obviously, we can’t do everything, but we will try our best to help those who are in need.
