Marketing Eye

I will make myself feel old writing this blog. It is a reminder of how long I have been in this industry. But during this time there has remained a sense of achievement with each and every issue of the thousands I have helped put together, including the latest issue of Marketing Eye.

When I first started in this industry back in 1996, Tupac was still alive, Trainspotting was released into cinemas and the French halted nuclear testing in the Pacific. A lot has changed in magazine production in that time, but the principles have stayed the same.

Steve Jobs, we will always remember you

He was number one on my bucket list and he someone I don't think a week went by without me mentioning him in conversation or thinking about how I could learn more from the way he operated.

His book was on my bedside table alongside a book written about how he presents to an audience and engages them like no other.

My bucket list had him down as the person I would most like to do work experience for. Sadly, this will never happen.

If we didn’t know it before, we sure know it now. Technology has taken over the world. Soon, this blog won’t need me to type up stories every day. I will be replaced by a piece of technology that comes up with new and innovative stories all by itself – and it will be funnier, more interesting and less expensive.
