Hinchinbrook – Tourism

The Hinchinbrook marketing portfolio showcases Marketing Eye’s work with Hinchinbrook, a tropical tourism destination located in northern Queensland. Known for its beautiful coastlines, natural landscapes and relaxed regional lifestyle, Hinchinbrook offers visitors an opportunity to explore one of Queensland’s underrated local hideaways. The region is home to a world heritage national park, scenic hiking areas, excellent fishing locations and unique wildlife, making it a destination with strong appeal for nature lovers, adventure travellers and visitors looking for something different.

Despite its natural beauty and tourism potential, Hinchinbrook was a lesser-known area of northern Queensland. The Hinchinbrook Regional Council wanted to generate more tourism, increase awareness of the region and encourage more people to discover what the area had to offer. To support this goal, the council engaged Marketing Eye as an outsourced marketing team to develop and execute a tourism marketing campaign.

Marketing Eye created a campaign designed to promote Hinchinbrook as a unique and memorable destination. The campaign used an integrated marketing approach, working with internal resources and the local region to create a strong message that could connect with potential visitors. A key part of this campaign was the development of the tagline “live a little… try something new”, which encouraged audiences to step outside their usual travel choices and experience Hinchinbrook’s natural attractions.

This new marketing tagline was supported by a matching campaign that highlighted the region’s distinctive value. The campaign focused on the beauty, character and experiences available in Hinchinbrook, including its coastlines, outdoor activities, fishing locations, wildlife and world heritage surroundings. By presenting the region through clear and engaging messaging, Marketing Eye helped create stronger awareness of Hinchinbrook as a tourism destination.

The campaign was promoted through billboards and various media outlets to increase visibility and reach a broader audience. These marketing channels helped bring attention to Hinchinbrook and supported the council’s goal of growing tourism and regional popularity.

The Hinchinbrook marketing portfolio is an example of how strategic tourism marketing can help a regional destination build awareness and attract visitors. Through campaign strategy, destination messaging, tagline development, billboard advertising and media promotion, Marketing Eye helped Hinchinbrook communicate its unique appeal and encourage more people to discover the region.
