  1. Social Media

Most of us actively use some sort of social media in our daily lives, whether we follow, post, comment or ‘like’ a post. Whatever actions we take on a social media platform are stored and used as a reference point to suggest other posts we should look at, as well as other people and pages we should follow. So be careful of who and what you follow, it may come back to haunt you.

  1. Work

You may be wondering what all of this has to do with business, well, your chances of getting a job you want are heavily impacted by your vibe. If, upon interviewing, you don’t vibe well with the workplace or people, you may not be offered a job.

So how do you get the job? First, do your homework on the firm you want to work for. Then, see if there’s any way to visit or tour the facilities, so you can see what the people are like. That way, when the interview arises, you know what to expect and you have a sense of what the vibes are like.

  1. Attitude

Have you ever noticed that people with bad attitudes travel in packs? As it does with your online presence and your employment opportunities, your vibe attracts your tribe. If you have a bad attitude, you may find that many of the people you call friends have bad attitudes as well. This may not seem like a big deal, but the people we surround ourselves with are an extension of ourselves.

People may judge you and your abilities off the people around you. Though this isn’t fair, in the business world, this happens all the time. So, just be mindful of the people you go to career fairs with and watch out for tags in pictures with people that you might not want to be associated with. You don’t want to give off the wrong vibe. Remember, the internet is forever.

All-in-all, vibes are an important aspect of our everyday lives that often go overlooked and underrated. Make sure that you send out the right vibes to receive the kind of vibes you’d like in return.
