For 20 years I have been in business and it's been one hell of a ride. There are been heaps of ups and a lot of downs, but if I look at the big picture, I am very happy with my choice.

We all procrastinate at one point or another. Hell, I just procrastinated as to whether I would write this blog or not. Obviously, I decided it was better to do it now then later, and moved on, but procrastination can become a problem if you are actually a true "Procrastinator". 

As marketing professionals, no day ever goes as planned. That doesn’t mean we don’t all have some daily routine we try to follow.

I found myself recently in a situation where in any normal situation, you would fire an employee who was responsible for a particular function in the business, and did not perform and was not achieving results. More than that, while their attitude was fine, they didn't put in extra effort nor did they 'think' about what they were doing on a day to day basis.

No matter how much coaching or development that took place, nothing changed.

Business is something that every entrepreneur has to work on every single day in order to achieve success.

Ranging from overall business strategy through to finance, human resources, technology, operations and the quality of your product or service.

As a female entrepreneur, I have big goals, and my dreams are not only something I think about often, I have carefully strategized the execution of a plan to achieve each and every dream I have had for myself.
Why women entrepreneurs spend far too much time criticizing themselves

People often ask me how do I do it. I travel continuously and I have done this for many years, and I do it without blinking an eye lid. Booking my next flight is just part of the parcel of having a job that takes me across three continents.

From falling, we remember how to pick ourselves up and keep on walking. In life, we are a bunch of complex creatures, and whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we have many ups and downs on our road to our next destination and beyond.I've had a pretty amazing life. I know that I have been privileged in so many ways; phenomenal family, great loyal long term friends, new friends and great loves. In many ways, I was prized with a place on the podium.

But with that comes a lot of 'stuff' and not all of it is great. As a child I remember being a bit of a silent dreamer. You know the one who never really tells anyone what their dreams are, and keeps them all to themselves. I had good friends then, and many are still the same friends that I have now. They have seen me evolve from a shy child, to an adult comfortable in her own skin.

I've failed more times than I can remember. 

We all set goals, and strive to make the most of our time. You however, you exceed expectations. You are organized, you are punctual, a true hard worker and then your car shuts down. Your identity gets stolen during the peak of tax season, the plumbing in your home is depleting uncontrollably and your love life conveniently decides to crumble.

Oh how tempting it is to lay in bed in fetal position and compose symphonies of self-pity, but your boss just texted to inform you that your deadlines just got moved forward.
It’s easy to call this a series of unfortunate events, but in all reality, it’s just called life.

Chaos is inevitable but manageable nonetheless.

First step. Stop everything.
