There are many reasons people do not reach their full potential. Some are due to circumstances that they feel they cannot get out of. Other reasons may be that they're over their head with commitments. Or perhaps it's them. They dream big but do nothing about it.

The untethered soul of your business

Your brand is what someone thinks of your business. It encompasses every aspect of the brand experience, before, during and after an interaction.

The soul of your business is so much more. It's living and breathing every single second inside every single person who works for you and determines the energy that people get when they interact with your business, and your people.

Google is a powerful, yet sensitive, machine. If Google doesn’t like something, its algorithms are quick to make changes for you. This is especially true when it comes to business reviews.

Live With Passion: Remembering 1st LT Lee

There are times in one’s own life that stick out as defining moments that shape who we are, the same way a massive flood can change the Earth’s landscape by carving it into pieces and destroying what was once there.

On April 29th of this year, I received a call from an old Army friend of mine that no one was expecting. He called and told us that Weston Lee had been hit by an IED and passed away the night before.

The Great American Eclipse

It’s amazing what a scientific anomaly can do to our culture and our businesses. It was a pleasant surprise to pull up my social media profiles and not see endless Trump posts, for or against.  Everyone around the U.S. dropped everything and acknowledged an event much larger than a personal opinion or celebrity story. So just how big of an effect did the eclipse have on the US?

14 Podcasts To Listen to Every Week

Can you believe that we are halfway through 2017 already? Being in sales, I understand August can be a slower month. But I’m a glass half full kind of guy. So I think this month should be used to catch up on some things you’ve been pushing off for the last half of the year. Living in Atlanta definitely has its perks. But, one thing everyone is familiar with is the traffic. I’m pretty sure Jeff Bezos is a genius. I mean when the guy was 3 years old he would take a part his crib in protest so that he could sleep in a real bed. At a young age, he built everything from robots, to crafts, to toys. Even today, he’s building a 10,000 year old clock (if you don’t know what it is check it out!).

And that clock symbolizes something much more than just a cool little weekend hobby the billionaire tech guru works on during weekends. It symbolizes his perspective of time. And that perspective transcends into his business decisions. Bezos said this in an interview about his clock:

If you run a marketing team, you will realise a few things; firstly that no marketing team can be all the same, and secondly, a mixture of personalities and skills is required for optimum performance. When choosing a team, it's best to steer away from selecting people just like you, or like another person who you rate as being a good marketer on your team. The reason is simple; a strong, competent, successful marketing team has to have a mixture of personalities that collaborate, support, encourage, nurture and push each other to reach their full potential both individually and as a team.

While this may seem idealistic, it's a reality for any competent marketing manager who has the 'balls' to think outside the box when they are putting together a team of people to take a company to the next level.
