The Power Of Referrals

In this day and age, consumers are constantly bombarded with advertisements in the streets, on television, and on their smartphones too. Businesses understand it is becoming increasingly difficult to capture the attention of consumers and build trust through mass emails and cold-calls.

Thankfully, there is a way to combat the struggle of gaining consumers’ trust without breaking the bank: a referral program.

Twitter Changes!

I’m sure you’ve seen something about all the changes Twitter announced this week. If you were lucky enough to be unplugged then, know the world has changed. Twitter is changing a few rules in the coming months. The 140 character rule that originated so tweets could be text messages, is just one of them. Anyone that spends their time trying to fit everything in 140 characters with a link, an image, and appropriate hashtags, is going to appreciate the 140 character loophole.

What are you currently doing as far as lead generation? Once you have captured a lead, how are you nurturing them? Do you have a system in place to handle incoming leads? How are you getting your leads? These are all questions you need to answer when considering lead generation.

People often ask me how do I do it. I travel continuously and I have done this for many years, and I do it without blinking an eye lid. Booking my next flight is just part of the parcel of having a job that takes me across three continents.

From falling, we remember how to pick ourselves up and keep on walking. In life, we are a bunch of complex creatures, and whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we have many ups and downs on our road to our next destination and beyond.I've had a pretty amazing life. I know that I have been privileged in so many ways; phenomenal family, great loyal long term friends, new friends and great loves. In many ways, I was prized with a place on the podium.

But with that comes a lot of 'stuff' and not all of it is great. As a child I remember being a bit of a silent dreamer. You know the one who never really tells anyone what their dreams are, and keeps them all to themselves. I had good friends then, and many are still the same friends that I have now. They have seen me evolve from a shy child, to an adult comfortable in her own skin.

I've failed more times than I can remember.

America’s Businesses, Always Changing

The American dream, something the world wants and everyone can have…. or well used to be able to have. Times have changed. Little mom and pop places are being replaced with huge corporate businesses like Walmart and Publix. Even little restaurants are falling behind to the national expansions of places like Chili's and LongHorn. They can still be found though, you might just have to look harder than you imagined.

It’s The Little Things That Matter

In marketing it is the little things that count. Our Founder, Mellissah Smith, constantly reminds the team of the importance of details. In marketing it is all about standing out. Don’t be ordinary, be extraordinary. Market yourself and market your company.

Below are some tips on how to take the extra step as a marketer.

Do you know someone who always has to have the last word in a conversation or an argument? Everyone has come across this type of person and knows how frustrating or plain sad it is when you see it.

Having the last word is closely associated with ego. Egomaniacs always have to have the last word. It gives them a feeling of power, as if they immediate draw all of the power of the person they are communicating with and become powerful due to it.

Who are you? Do you really know? Do you know what you stand for? What do people think of you?

Your personal brand is everything to the people that count, and means nothing to those that don't.

I always wonder why people try to be someone else when their true self is beautiful inside and out. Why some pretend, while other's have a comfort in their own skin that exudes a brand that has connection, meaningfulness, and realism.

It’s time to break your business out of the Stone Age! Without a proper marketing and communications strategy your business will not accomplish exponential growth. Think to yourself, is it okay to start a business without a business model/strategy? No.

So why are you still marketing without a marketing and communications strategy? It’s a waste of time and money and time is money so basically you just wasted a ton of money due to your lack of marketing efforts.

We are taught to do so many things in business; how to hire people, how to inspire teams, how to make money, how to get sales in the door, how to increase your profits. The list is endless, and somewhat exhausting. How, as an entrepreneur, can we get it all right?

Build The Life You Dream Of Living

I had a dream to see the world... and I did it. In fact, I am still doing it.

I also had a dream to own my own marketing firm. Did that too. And still doing it.

We all have choices, and we all have dreams, but few of us actually live the life we dream of living. What holds us back, is ourselves and our own determination to fulfil our own dreams, and not that of others.

Good For The Environment, Good For You

When considering opening a business, most people think about profits. However in today’s world, more and more business owners are considering what they can do to go green!

Green business is defined as an enterprise that has minimal negative impact on the global environment, community, society, or economy. Often times these businesses have progressive environmental and human rights policies.

There are many challenges businesses face with growth, but at some stage in the cycle it becomes second nature to deal with these issues in a sound way.

Marketing technology is an essential part of the marketing mix. To understand fully the implementations of various technology platforms, is hard and near impossible for most fulltime marketing managers navigating today’s competitive landscape.

This week, we have been completing our yearly in-depth training sessions with our U.S. based team. That means reminding ourselves about all areas of marketing, and what role technology plays in powering marketing performance.

Like most seasoned marketers, we break up the marketing technology mix into six categories; marketing experiences, operations, middleware, platforms, infrastructure and internet.

First things first… I am not a designer, I am a marketer. However, I know a few things about landing pages from practice and reading, a ton.

Everyone has heard the idea of Keep It Simple Stupid. It is so important with our constant day to day distractions on the internet that we remember to always KISS (imagine eyebrows bouncing in a suggestive way). Having said that, one of the most important places to “dumb it down” is a landing page.

In case you have been living under a rock, the “millennial generation” is adults that age from 18 to 34 years old. This generation has been causing a lot of chaos for marketers and brands alike. With a generation so connected to the world and their cellular devices, how do you reach them? It seems that nothing can captivate their attention. Brands are panicking and the attention span of a millennial is shrinking. Is time running out? Maybe and maybe not.

Why Your E-Newsletter Failed

How many times a day do you get an email and move it straight to trash before even opening it? We are all guilty of this action because we receive hundreds of “spam” emails everyday.

They are trying to captivate us with:
  • Buy this
  • Save this
  • Sign up to be an exclusive member
  • You don’t want to miss this

But none of this works....
