Marketing Eye

Well, alot has happened in aerospace of recent and quite a few million people have been affected. The volanic ash deriving from Iceland has grounded all planes and airports are now laying out beds for passengers to sleep on whilst they wait. It looks like a disaster zone.

Julia Gillard… oh, dear

Watching the Today Show as I am packing up boxes for a house move over the weekend and I must say that Julia Gillard needs some media training.

I knew you when…

Ms-and-nic-300x20215 years ago… big hair, ghastly makeup and daggy clothes. Here I am with one of my best friends, Nicole, in Cairns, North Queensland on a girls weekend away.

At the time, I worked in marketing for a large retailer and Nicole worked for News Limited. We lived together and like most girls that age, we spent night after night talking about how one day we would do this and one day we would do that. We both had big dreams and were prepared to put in the hard yards to achieve them.

The pens not even dry

Something strange is going on.  A lot of successful business people say that there comes a time in your business life cycle that it either plateaus or the business fires with the injection of new products or services.

Who is successful?

Sunday is the best day of the week. I lie in bed reading the Sunday papers, skimming through stories that range from general interest through to politics and business. I skip gossip, but spend time reading real estate and travel. I start the day with the herbal tea and usually head out for breakfast with friends in search of the perfect coffee.

One Size Does Not Fit All

How many times do you try on a garment that says it fits all but is either too tight for you or way too loose?
ist1_5394864-storm-in-a-teacup-with-pathThe path to business success is never easy but as our entrepreneurial skills improve, our experiences increase and our understanding of the different business dynamics that exist from one organisation to another, it certainly does get to a stage that when faced with an obstacle, we are able to handle it alot better.

Have you gone viral?

Viral marketing is getting harder and harder as the web community grows more and more cynical. Being an elusive spread of a message through the population likened to contagion, Viral Marketing can either hit everyone or no-one at all.

Hi,

I am one of those people that has been fortunate enough in life to have been brought up in a safe, loving environment where there was always beautiful food on the table, holidays and plenty of good times.

Shane Warne... A tweeting success

It’s a page 13 3/4 page story in The Sunday Telegraph that’s caught my eye today whilst reading my beloved Sunday papers and it has reminded me the value of online networks, people who have significant brand names and the media.
