According to Wikipedia:  Saint Valentine’s Day (commonly shortened to Valentine’s Day) is an annual holiday held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.  The holiday is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established in AD 496. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines“).

Last week, Marketing Eye worked with a company that has developed a revolutionary technology platform to help people manage their careers online.

I love booking flights online. It’s fast, efficient and until today, I thought, cost-effective.

As entrepreneurs, so often we don’t let go - of anything. We control the finances, products, services, sales and marketing. I am sure if there was some research available, it would say that most entrepreneurs of small businesses are control freaks.

So says George Cloutier, author of “Profits Aren’t Everything, They’re The Only Thing” who then goes on to proclaim that “It’s not the economy stupid, it’s you!”

It’s not what your marketing company really wants to hear, but hey, it’s the reality.

It makes me cry to think that I can’t be a ‘natural’ at everything I do because god I want to be!

For the next 2 days, Marketing Eye is hosting a national management meeting for the senior team in Melbourne to discuss the company’s growth plans and the year ahead.

It’s only February 8th and I am already hearing companies say how busy they are. So busy in fact, that they don’t have time to do marketing.

Marketing Eye listens to what clients want and quite often adapts what we offer accordingly.

Saturday night, like any other, I was enjoying a delicious meal with a good friend of mine at a bar/restaurant in Melbourne. I didn’t particularly want to go anywhere, but my friend insisted that I get out of the house - so, eventually I gave in and I did.

It’s Friday and yet another person has said that their target audience is everybody.

The perils of being an entrepreneur are many.

Over the year’s I have listened to many people tell me how to sell. I have attended numerous seminars and courses with great’s like Jack Daly and gained invaluable knowledge and motivation on how to attack the sales process in my business.

I am in Townsville today doing a stocktake of one of Marketing Eye’s medium sized business clients brands.
