This super sexy Prada Eyewear Billboard in the Milan Airport was literally overcome with admirers. I watched for 10 minutes, as hundreds of people looked up and stared. Having travelled from Atlanta through to Milan, I was overcome with the number of quality billboards on display at the airport. Definately the capital of fashion in Italy!
It really is a knockout. What do you think?

Travelling through Milan Airport from Atlanta the other day, I noticed this billboard. It reminded me of the movie, Step Mom, with Julia Roberts in the 90's where she was a photographer taking an impromptu shot of catering guy with a bunch of super glamorous models.
As always, Dolce and Gabbana is as stylish as ever in every aspect of their marketing. I really love this billboard and would love to look that good in that dress! Wouldn't you?

A post of Facebook by my best girlfriend of more than 20 years, about an upcoming Prince concert, had me tormented. Why? Because concerts for me are usually best heard on a DVD or somewhere I can have sound control. I sound like a 'Nanna' but load music usually gives me headaches and although I love music, I tend to love silence a little more.
Read more about: What has Prince got that you haven't? → Last week I was walking past this billboard in Munich and it really stood out. Mainly because of its size in the centre of town, but also because of its simplicity and edgy connectivity. What do you think of this Adidas Billboard?

Imagine this. You are walking down the street to buy an ice-cream. You are thinking about what ice-cream you want to eat. Five selections come to mind, each with their unique selling proposition and price point. You select. You pay through mind authorisation. You arrive at the dispenser, and your choice pops out. You open the wrapper and start eating.
The wrapper needs disposing of. You think again. Environmentally friendly option is has more merit. Immediately a map comes to mind. You select your destination. Your body automatically walks to the place of disposal. The bin, thanks you, recalling your name.
When it comes to marketing, how long is a piece of string? How long is the right amount of time for a small business owner to spend on marketing? It's a tough question for most small business owners who are faced with running a business, motivating staff, quality control, hiring people, and accounts. But there are some sure ways that you can maximise the time you spend on marketing in your business, and still have time left over to do all the other things that make your business run smoothly and achieve your business goals
Read more about: How small business owners can manage the time they spend on marketing → Don't get me wrong... I love Atlanta. In fact, it is one of my preferred cities in the US and its definately very livable.
However, from a marketing and creative perspective, is it allowing itself as a city to be second best?
It's hard to compare to New York - let's face it, but when it comes to business, why should New York companies have greater access to the talents of the world's best creatives and marketers and Atlanta be left to those who couldn't make it in the city that never sleeps.
That's the same for Investment Bankers and a whole host of careers, I know, but it saddens me that Atlanta hasn't used its critical mass of 6 million people to produce some of the world's most distinguished and talented creatives.
How can we as a city change that? How can we make Atlanta the US' hub for marketers and creatives? I don't have an answer, but I will have one tomorrow. Food for thought.

With the excitement mounting in Melbourne for tonights big game with the RaboDirect Melbourne Rebels playing the NSW Waratahs at AAMI Stadium in the FxPro Super Rugby, everyone is waiting with anticipation to see how the 2012 season starts in what is the second game of the competition.
Rugby is the sport of gentlemen. I remember years ago going up to Brisbane to watch Australia play Italy at Ballymore Stadium. Everyone was well dressed, drinking champagne and premium beers, chatting away. The stadium was full of professionals and die hard rugby fans. The atmosphere was exciting and full of life.
Of course the Kiwi's vs the Aussie's is the biggest match in the game particularly if you are from either of these countries.
Sponsorship is a hard one to measure. I know Qantas do an amazing job with their sponsorship of the Formula One in Melbourne each year. You would have to be sleeping under a rock if you didn't associate Qantas with Formula One in Australia. Their marketing team does a phenomenal job of maximising their sponsorships.

It has caught me by surprise. Who would have guessed? I wasn't expecting anything, not even a rose.

I don't know about you, but I am feeling pretty good about 2012. Sitting in the kitchen of a friend's home in Vail, I am spending literally hours trawling through websites on marketing from around the world.
With entrepreneurs surrounding me, I constantly ask them what they read online, what apps they download and what is the best marketing campaigns that they have seen. Its an interesting conversation and everyone seems to have a number of websites they love that is consistent with the others and a few have a some 'pearlers' that are untapped by the average entrepreneur that is a must-have resource.
